Pavi and Wayne

Introducing Pavi’s School of Dance: In the year 2009, Pavi’s School of Dance was established by the meticulous Pavi Naidoo. The school has grown substantially over the years with the help her partner Wayne Williams.

Introduction

Line Dancing is a formation dance performed by a group of people in one or more lines. The dancers move in the same direction and execute the same choreographed movements. Line dancers are not in physical contact with each other. Pavi explains that “Dancing keeps you mentally and physically fit and it is a fun way to socialize and make new friends”.

Lessons

Pavi and Wayne are known in their community as exceptional dancers and have put together an array of incredible dances to teach their students. Pavi’s specialty in the dance world is line dancing.

I have personally witnessed the extraordinary synchronized routines performed by her students at social events. These dances do not require a partner. Students are taught line dancing to wonderful songs such as Rivers of Babylon, Despacito, Billie Jean, As Long As I Live and so much more.

Pavi and Wayne combine to teach lessons in dancing smooth flowing Jazz on the dancefloor. Couples are taught how to move elegantly and how to express themselves to the music. Lessons also include the very sensual Salsa dance. Dancers learn the correct body movement and also increase their stamina. Pavi School of Dance also offer private dance classes for special occasions such as Weddings.

Classes

Pavi and Wayne hold their exciting classes in various suburbs north of Durban. Students living centrally can attend classes in Durban North or Umhlanga. The community of Phoenix are really spoilt for choice with classes being held in Stonebridge, Stanmore and Woodview. Pavi’s School of Dancing can also be found in Verulam, Tongaat, Seatides and as far north as Stanger.

Aftermath DJ Club

Aftermath DJ Club has had the honour of providing the entertainment for Pavi’s School of Dance. The awesome social I dj’yed for was really well supported. Students from JC Dance Club, Latino School of Dance and Wings Dance Academy attended the function. I found that the atmosphere was both fun and inviting. The music for the evening included Line Dancing, Ballroom, Jazz, Bhangra, R ‘n B, Local and Slow Music. I really enjoyed playing for this event. Pavi’s School of Dance treats you like family and it all starts with its amazing teachers.
